Information we collect
Our server logs record IP addresses, request times, pages requested, referring pages and browser information. We use these logs to operate and secure the website. Logs are normally retained for about two weeks.
We use Matomo on our own server to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies are disabled, and IP addresses are shortened before storage in the analytics database. Statistics include page views, referral sources, approximate location, device and browser information, and outgoing link clicks.
With JavaScript enabled, browser Do Not Track signals disable analytics tracking. Standard server logs are still recorded.
How we use and share information
We use information to maintain the website, prevent abuse, improve our guides and respond to messages.
We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers. Hosting and email providers may process information needed to deliver their services. We may disclose information when legally required.
Affiliate links and other websites
Affiliate links contain referral codes that may earn us a commission when you book. Our booking partners are Expedia and Vrbo, both part of Expedia Group, and Viator. After you follow a link, the provider’s privacy policy and cookie practices apply. See the privacy statements of Expedia and Vrbo. For Viator, see the privacy policy on viator.com.

If you email us, we use your address and message to respond. We do not add you to a mailing list.
For privacy questions or requests concerning your information, contact [email protected]. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information.
